Feed conversion ratio 1.43 lower is better; good aquaculture FCR is roughly 1.0-1.8

What FCR means. An FCR of 1.5 means it took 1.5 kg of feed to grow 1 kg of fish. Cheaper feed with a worse FCR can still cost more per kilo than pricier feed that converts well.

⚠️ A rough working figure, not a lab measurement. FCR shifts with water temperature, fish size, feed quality and uneaten feed. Track it over time - the trend tells you more than the number.
